Latest version of Sound Tool

Q)
Please tell me the latest version information of the sound tool at the moment.

A)
As of February 5, 1997, it is as follows.

Sega Saturn Sound Driver = Ver 2.10
Sega Saturn Sound Simulator = Ver 3.01
Sega Saturn Tone Editor = Ver 2.07
Sega Saturn Waveform Editor = Ver 1.20
Sega Saturn DSP Linker = Ver 2.00
Sega Saturn DSP Expansion Linker = Ver 1.04
Sega Saturn ADPCM Encoder = Ver 1.01

How to create data when sound sources are played separately.

Q)
On one map, I want to set the SE-related sequence data to # 32 and 0, and the BGM-related sequence data to # 32 and 1 for playback, but the sound source is # 32 and 0, How should I create a tone editor, map, etc. to make it sound separately from # 32 and No. 1?

A)
Create two bank data of banks 0 and 1 on the map, and in the tone editor, if you note that "Set sending bank" in the Preference menu matches the bank number currently being edited, the rest is when there is one bank The work content is the same.

I get an error in "Play Audio" of the waveform editor.

Q)
I am using it to convert an AIFF file created with SD2 etc. to SCSP format, but the following error message appears the moment I hit the keyboard of the soft keyboard with "Play Audio".

  01000200 00000 501 00000000 0000
  01000250 00000 501 00000000 0005

A)
"Play Audio" cannot be used in the CartDev environment.
Sound BOX only. Also, SD2 AIFF is fully supported by the TONE editor, so load it directly with the TONE editor.
note that,

"I couldn't get the loop"

If you get the error, set "Initial Settings-> AIFF Loop Settings" to "Check for 3 or more markers" and try loading again.

Please tell me the flow of effect output on the tool.

Q)
How are effects handled in Sound Tools?

A)
The flow of effect output on the sound development tool is as follows.

  1. Specify the input channel to the DSP with "Effect Select" in the layer window.
For example, set it to "0 ch".

  2. Set the input channel of the DSP linker to "0 ch" above.
Install the effect module you want to use and set the output channel.
For example, for stereo, set to "1 ch" and "2 ch".

  3. Raise the "Effect Level" specified for the above output channel on the mixer window of the tone editor.
(For example, set it to 7) If this level is 0, there will be no sound on the sound simulator. Then, be sure to set the level of the channel not specified for output in 2) to 0.

Is there a proper sequence volume setting?

Q)
Is it possible to control the volume only up to 8 levels with SEQ?
If the velocity is too high and even a little low, you will not hear it, but please let us know if you have a recommended velocity setting.
I think there is a default curve for MIDI sound modules, but what about?

A)
The sequence volume can be set from 0 to 255.
The default value is 128, which is louder.
However, be aware that setting an extremely large value may distort the sound.

This is a velocity setting, but there is no standard setting because the curve changes depending on the MIDI sound source. Set according to your environment.
An example of this setting is shown below.

The value on the Verocity window from the top

-------------------------------------------------
V0: 6, L0: 62, V1: 20, L1: 91, V2: 76, L2: 117, L3: 127
-------------------------------------------------

Loop settings on 98 recomposers

Q)
If you use the recomposer to insert "CONTROL 31" in the sequence data and loop it, it will be played as Intro → A → B → A → B ..., but the first note of the second A part I'm missing sound, what are the possible causes?
"CONTROL 31" uses a dedicated track.
I wondered if the insertion location was bad, so I tried several patterns, but it didn't improve.

A)
For 98 recomposers, it may be strange if you do not specify the number of steps for "CONTROL 31" as well.

I want to set Volume and Verocity for each song.

Q)
I want to set Volume and Verocity for each song, but I can't set it for each song with Total Level or Master Volume on the tool?

A)
This can be handled by assigning Voices with different Volume and Verocity settings to each song.
You can set up to 128 Voice. At this time, the same waveform data to be assigned is shared, so there is no problem with memory size.
