What is the latest version of the author editor?

Q)
I am currently using Ver 1.13 of the author editor. Is there a new version of the author editor?

A)
Regarding the authoring tools, the version provided on the CD-ROM this time (Movie Tools DISK ver 95/10/31) will be the final version.
There are no plans to upgrade in the future.

MovieToSaturn-J causes "Video sample acquisition error".

Q)
While running MovieToSaturn-J (drag and drop movies one by one)

"Error number: -108 A video sample acquisition error has occurred."

Message appears and the process ends halfway.
Some movies end normally. Be sure to reproduce the movie with the error in the same place. The ratio of movies with errors to movies without errors is about 1: 1. It works fine when QuickTime 2.5 is set to 2.1.

A)
This is an error that occurs because MovieToSaturn-J Ver 1.08b does not support QT Ver 2.5. Please upgrade MTSJ to Ver 1.09.

MovieToSaturn-J gives "Video and audio lengths are different" error.

Q)
When converting a Cinepak-compressed movie with MovieToSaturn-J

"Video and audio lengths are different"

I get an error.
I'm getting this error in multiple movies.

A)
Check the TimeScale with Dumpster, etc., and if it is a value other than 600, try setting it to 600.
Also, if you perform from editing to compression on the premiere, the above error may occur, so try editing only at the premiere, decompress the output, and compress it using another compression tool such as MovieShop.

Cinepak compression quality doesn't improve in Premiere

Q)
I'm using "Premiere" on my Mac to apply Cinepak compression, but the image quality doesn't improve, so is there any other good compression tool?

A)
First, check the version of "Premiere". In the latest Ver 4.2, the image quality of Cinepak compression has been improved, such as the ability to specify keyframes.
We also recommend "MOVIE SHOP 1.2" as another tool.
You can download this tool from Apple's home page.

DeBabelizer fails when compressing Cinepak

Q)
When I try to apply Cinepak compression at the time of output when reading CG created for a movie using DeBabelizer in a sequence, DeBabelizer causes an error when the number of read sheets exceeds 600.

A)
I've never heard of DeBabelizer having a read limit, so it's probably a Macintosh system issue.

As a workaround, you can divide the movie into the number that does not cause an error, compress it, and then join the movies with MoviePlayer etc., or use Premiere instead of DeBabelizer.
