VDP2 outputs image signals according to each of NTSC or PAL TV, 31kHz monitor, and HDTV monitor according to the TV screen mode. The TV screen consists of a vertical display period and a vertical blanking interval (V blank period), and is a collection of rasters consisting of a horizontal display period and a horizontal blanking interval (H blank period), respectively. Figure 2.2 shows the configuration of the TV screen.
The part where the horizontal display period and the vertical display period overlap is called each TV system 132 border area, and black or back screen can be output. Figure 2.2 TV screen configuration
