Postscript Write-once system user's manual 1. 1. Overview
This document describes the external specifications of the write-once system "ADDCDW".
1.1 Features
- Addendum Write-once system ADDCDW is a system that can repeatedly write to CD-R discs.
- (1) It is possible to write to a CD-R disc multiple times.
- With a conventional write-once system (SEGA CDW), you can write to a CD-R disc only once. Therefore, even if the amount written was small, the disk could not be reused.
This system can add multiple times to one disc. - (2) Full update of the disc (full addition)
- By adding a new disk image file, the contents of the disk can be completely rewritten. In this case, what was previously written will be invisible.
- (3) Partial update of disk (additional difference: addition, deletion, replacement)
- Once you have written the basic contents such as volume information and directory information to the CD-R disc, you can then write only the programs and data you want to add or change.
This can reduce disc creation time and usage. - (4) Fully upward compatible with SEGA CDW
- It includes the functions of SEGACDW, and it is also possible to create a master disk.
- (5) Supports on-the-fly writing (from Ver.1.70)
- "On-the-fly writing" can be performed in cooperation with the CD builder "XBLD".
On-the-fly burning eliminates the need to create a disk image, saving you time and hard disk space. 1.2 System image
