8. Audio control


8.1 Decoder control

The following settings can be made for the MPEG audio decoder.

No audio is output during mute.

8.2 Multi-channel playback

Applications that perform multilingual playback allocate MPEG audio data to each channel as follows. When you set the channel to play back, only the data of the corresponding channel is sent to the decoder, and the data of the other channels is discarded. Discarding is done in time with the transfer of the playback channel, so you can quickly switch channels to play audio from another channel in sync with the video.
The following is an example of playing Japanese with channel number 1. French and English audio data will be discarded as the Japanese data is played.
