5. Network environment


The programmer, designer, and sound development systems mentioned above can be developed more efficiently by being connected by a network. The network environment differs depending on the number of workers (number of machines). The specific network configuration (server, client) is explained below according to the number of developers.


NFS server / client network environment (for 3 to 6 people)

The figure below shows the case where Indy is operated as a single server and client.

Network with dedicated server machine (7 or more people is a guide)

Use SparcStation5 etc. as a dedicated server and use an Ether / SCSI board to improve server performance.

PC-AT and Mac only network environment

Build an efficient network environment by using a NetWare server.

Reference: NetWare is compatible with Mac and PC-AT (Windows, etc.).
