Sound Development Manual / 1. Overview

■ Development overview

Saturn's sound system is constructed with the target board itself as a multi-sound source of up to 32 sounds polyphonic sounded by MIDI so that sound can be easily developed without knowledge of programs such as assembler that was necessary until now. I am.
If you create tone bank data with a dedicated tone editor that has a structure similar to that of a commercially available synthesizer tone editor, sound development can be done like composing DTM (desktop music) using a normal MIDI sequencer. In addition, the DSP linker allows you to freely link effects such as reverb, delay, and chorus (within memory) like commercially available digital multi-effects units. With the mixer function of the tone editor, you can set the level and localization of each tone as well as the amount and type of DSP effects in the tone bank data. In addition, audio sampling can also be imported directly into the Macintosh from the digital input of the target board for waveform editing, enabling efficient development.
