9. About error messages

There are various error messages in SatToneEd. There are some that users can avoid.
Here are the error messages, content, and workarounds.

● What seems to be a bug in the application.

"Communication is about to take place with the SCSI ID on the boot disk. Save the data and exit the application."

I am trying to communicate with the SCSI device to be communicated set in the boot disk due to some bug.

"It is a system error."

"A system error has occurred."

Inconsistent values have been assigned to internal variables. After this, you may see a message for the person in charge.

"The memory status is abnormal. Please save the current data."

"Failed to copy memory."

This is a memory related bug. Please tell us what you did.

"Failed to save data."

"Failed to read the data."

"The data structure and file size are inconsistent."

"The data format is abnormal."

There was a problem with file input / output.
In rare cases, this error may occur one after another if the extension related to file input / output is included.

● User-avoidable errors

The following errors are user avoidable. Follow the solution.

"Alias Manager is not available. The application will exit."

"The extended dialog manager is unavailable. The application will be closed."

"Apple Event Manager is unavailable. The application will close."

"The pop-up menu is not available. The application will exit."

"The new standard file manager is unavailable. The application will close."

"Compatibility check is not possible. The application will be closed."

These features are the ones you definitely want to use with SatTone Ed. Please install the latest system (KanjiTalk 7.12 or higher) and restart it.

"The memory could not be secured. Please give up this function or expand the memory and restart it."

The application memory allocation for the size of the data is extremely small. Increase the memory used by the application from the "File"> "Get Info" menu in the finder.

"The window is too open. Please close another window and try again."

You are trying to open a window beyond the limit. Close unnecessary windows.

"This data is the last data and cannot be deleted."

Data called from the "Settings" menu, voices for banks, and voices

You must have at least one layer. I'm trying to delete that last data.

"The bank address is incorrect. Please send the correct bank data."

There is an incorrect destination address.
This error often occurs when the target board is not properly initialized.
Please set the correct address using the SatSndSim application.

"The driver may not have been started."

The driver has not been started with the target board connected.
This error will occur if no address is obtained. Occurs when you start up immediately after resetting the target board.

"The transmission address or transmission size is abnormal."

The data size is too large for the configured address assigned in the target board. Please reset the data size so that it can be sent before sending.

"There is no editable waveform."

Waveform is "in a state no one Edit "> This error occurs when you call the "Edit waveform" menu.

"This file cannot be opened with Tone Editor."

You are trying to open a file other than the SatToneEd data file.

To delete a bank, select " Delete Bank " from the "Edit" menu. "

Bank deletion does not correspond to shortcut keys because accidents do not occur.

● Branch message

"If you delete these data, the settings in the layer may shift."

Appears as confirmation when Velocity, PEG, PLFO is deleted. See the Settings > Velocity menu for more information.

"There is a Voice that has no layer. If you continue to work, it may cause an error. Do you want to replenish the layer? (If you replenish it, the bank size will increase)"

The YAMAHA tone editor can generate voices with no layer. Eliminate the data contradiction.
This contradiction is not supported and will freeze in the worst case if not resolved here.

"If the user does the size check, they will not be able to communicate with the target. At the same time, the SCSI ID will be destroyed. Do you want to do it?"

You can set it to update the size manually by default.
