Regarding the input peripherals (corresponding P) that can be used in the application, the following principles based on the <Pad setting principle> of the "Software creation criteria" must be observed.
<Corresponding input peripheral setting principle> -If the corresponding P is not connected to the main body terminal 1, the game must not be started. -In principle, the main body terminal 1 corresponds to 1P operation, and the main body terminal 2 corresponds to 2P operation. |
As a general rule, check as often as possible while the power is on, and at the very least, take measures to prevent runaway .
Refer to the recommended specifications below for what kind of check is performed at what timing.
<< Recommended specifications >>
| (a) Check before start |
◆ Checking the corresponding P (registration of valid terminals)
* Be careful not to cause unstable operation when a mouse is connected, especially for applications that do not support a mouse.
* In multiplayer games where the start timing is different for each player (participation is possible in the middle), check frequently at any timing including in the main game.
| (b) Check at start |
◆ Start application
* In a multiplayer game where you can participate in the middle, you may start from other than 1P.
* In a multiplayer game, each player may be allowed to set the content individually.
◆ Determining the terminal to use
* Terminals that exceed the maximum number of players cannot be selected.
| (c) Check in the main game |
◆ Checking for insertion and removal
(i) When pulled out
<About "System Pose">
* In the following cases, "system pose" is desirable.* "System pause" can be canceled from any use P when the removed use P is returned (when the application determines that it can be used again).
* If you want to switch to "System Pose" during User Pose, the User Pose will be automatically canceled if "System Pose" is canceled. (When the peripheral used is pulled out during user pause, etc.)
(ii) When inserted
* Even if a P other than the used P that was pulled out is returned, if it is a corresponding P, the input is restarted.
(iii) When added
* Redetermine the terminal to be used at the following timing.
* Terminals that exceed the maximum number of players cannot be selected.
The transition of the terminal state by the checks up to this point is shown in the figure below.

When making an application correspond to each input peripheral, it must be possible to operate with CONTROL PAD except in special cases. Therefore, at a minimum, the optional control settings (CONTROL) must correspond to both input peripherals (CONTROL PAD and each corresponding input peripheral). Observe the following rules when making options correspond to each input peripheral .
If it is necessary to display the name of each input peripheral in the game, in principle, unify it with the name used in this creation standard.
