■ Overview

The multi-controller is a controller that enables digital cross + 6 buttons + 4-axis analog operation in its own mode while maintaining compatibility with the conventional Saturn standard pad.
The software released in general can also be operated as a standard pad by switching modes. In addition, various functions can be added by replacing the plug unit with the expansion socket of the controller. (Currently, the expansion unit is undecided)

This text describes the data format when the normal unit is attached to the expansion unit.

■ Digital / analog common specifications

● When the power is turned on

The position of the analog key when the power is turned on is corrected to the center value (128,128), and the position of the trigger is corrected to 0 value.

● Mode switch

The mode switch switches between digital and analog and has the following functions.

Data format switching to maintain compatibility with Saturn standard pads.

Center position (128,128) correction of analog value and 0 (zero) value correction of L / R trigger.

● Corresponding peripheral character code: Multi-controller = "E"

This is the character code described in SYSTEMID in the application CD-ROM.

● Explanation of each data

Right, Left, Down, Up ...	When you enter the key with the cross key, it becomes "0".
Start, ATRG, CTRG, BTRG ...	It becomes "0" when the XTRG, YTRG, ZTRG buttons are pressed.
RTRG, LTRG ...	It will be "0" when the digital data is returned and the button is pressed due to the analog threshold value.

Note: No analog value is output in this putt mode.

The lower 3 bits (bit2 to 0) of 2nd DATA is [111b], but please do not use it to maintain compatibility with other peripherals.

◆ Digital department

Right, Left, Down, Up ...	When you enter the key with the cross key, it becomes "0".
Start, ATRG, CTRG, BTRG ... XTRG, YTRG, ZTRG	It becomes "0" when the button is pressed.
RTRG, LTRG ...	It will be "0" when the digital data is returned and the button is pressed due to the analog threshold value.

● Notes

The locus when the AX, AY keys are fully defeated is a concentric circle with a radius of 128 centered on AX, AY = (80H, 80H). The value (0) is not output. In addition, each coordinate in the figure shows the main position, but the actual input value can indicate any position in the circumference.
